How do I request a credit extension?

Extend a customer's credit approval status for an extra 60 days

A customer's approved credit application is valid for 180 days after credit is run.  The customer's system should be installed within this 180 day window. Sunlight allows the installer to request a 60 day extension so that you can keep your customer's credit application valid for a total 240 days.

  • The "Request Extension" button will appear when your customer is within 15 days of credit expiration. Please submit extension requests at least 10 days prior to credit expiration to ensure adequate processing time.
  • Requests must be processed before the initial credit request expires.

How to Request a Credit Extension

1. Click on a customer tile in the operations dashboard to get to the customer details screen.

2. Click on the "Credit and Loan" tab.

3. Click on the button that says "Request Extension."

4. Please wait 30-60 seconds for the screen to refresh. If your customer was approved for the credit extension you will receive a screen that says "extension approved."

If your customer needs to be reviewed by our team for final approval you will receive a response that says "extension requested."


If you check back in within the next few business days you will see either "extension approved" or "extension denied."
